Born in 1974, Leonardo DiCaprio got his big break in show business at the age of 16, when he landed the recurring role of Luke Brower in the television series Growing Pains. Although he had done commercials and minor film and television roles, joining the cast of Growing Pains is what really set the stage for his successful career in acting.
After Growing Pains, DiCaprio moved on to film, receiving critical praise for his work in This Boy’s Life (1993), What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), and Marvin’s Room (1996). And then, in 1997, Titanic happened. DiCaprio played the part of Jack Dawson, a poor, lovestruck passenger on board the doomed ship. DiCaprio’s career skyrocketed even faster after the blockbuster, turning the actor into an international celebrity.
Since Titanic, DiCaprio has gone on to do dramatic, memorable roles in a wide variety of films, like playing King Louis XIV in The Man in the Iron Mask (1998), famous con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can (2002), a diamond smuggler in Blood Diamond (2006), a corporate spy in Inception (2010), a slave trader in Django Unchained (2012), and most recently, the iconic role of Jay Gatsby in the film adaptation of The Great Gatsby (2013). Over the course of his career, DiCaprio earned three Oscar nominations and nine Golden Globe nominations (he took one home for The Aviator in 2005).
Along with film critics, DiCaprio has also won the hearts of many young, beautiful women. Virtually all of his past relationships have been with models, many of whom have been younger than him. Most of DiCaprio’s relationships have been brief, with the exception of his on-again-off-again relationships with model Gisele Bündchen and Bar Refaeli—they each lasted five years.
As DiCaprio got older, his taste in women got younger. After he and Rafaeli finally broke up in 2011, it didn’t take him too long to move on to actress Blake Lively, who is 13 years younger. Tabloids had a field day with this celebrity couple, profiling all of their extravagant travels around the globe. But alas, five months later, they called it quits.
In true sugar daddy style, DiCaprio just moved on to the next young model. While down in Australia filming The Great Gatsby, the actor enjoyed the company of not one, but two models, Alyce Crawford (16 years younger) and Kendal Schuler (17 years younger). Since then, he’s also been linked to young models Madalina Ghenea and Erin Heatherton.
DiCaprio’s current conquest—for now, at least—is German fashion model Toni Garrn. The pair met while DiCaprio was in France for the Cannes Film Festival in May 2013. Since then, they’ve been spotted in public together several times. She’s even reportedly already met his mother after only two months together.
