The latest comic fiction series, Legends of Tomorrow, is setting its pace, generating high ratings so far compared to other competitive television spin-offs and enticing viewers into its futuristic appeal. The superhero league is all set and ready to take down the master villain and we’re only in the second episode. Legends of Tomorrow season 1 episode 2, titled Pilot: Part Two, is set to air later this week on Thursday, January 28 at 8/7c on The CW.
Before we find out what’s in store this week, let’s first catch up on last week’s premiere, for those who missed out on it. In the first part of the pilot episode, which aired on January 21, we saw the premise of the show unfold—after witnessing Vandal Savage’s (Casper Crump) gruesome turmoil over the world in 2166, time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) goes back in time to the present day in an effort to save humanity by assembling a league of super-humans. As the team gets ready, Rip takes them back to the ‘70s to meet Professor Boardman (Peter Francis James), who happens to know of Savage’s whereabouts in the future.
Before he gets killed by a time-traveling bounty hunter named Chronos, Boardman reveals the truth about Vandal—he is actually the lovechild of Kendra/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Carter/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) from their past lives. As the team manages to escape back to the present day, Rip Hunter’s time-machine spaceship gets hit by Chronos, and that’s when Rip confesses to stealing the time machine from the Time Council and he also reveals that his intention to end Savage is because the latter had once killed his wife and kids.
Now, in Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 2, the Legends team, comprising of Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance/White Canary (Caitly Lotz), Jefferson Jackson/Firestorm (Franz Drameh), Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm (Victor Garber), Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Carter Hall/Hawkman, and Kendall Saunders/Hawkgirl, along with Rip Hunter will travel to the future hunting down Vandal Savage and his allies.
The promos for this new episode show that the Legends will have to endure extraordinary measures to take down Savage, a 4,000-year-old immortal. The trailer also shows how Savage gets to know of the Legends’ presence right at the moment they arrive, and will reveal some of his unknown powers. The second episode will even have intimate scenes between yet-unspecified characters, likely to be between the Legends. Speaking of love between the Legends, the intermittent romance between Kendall and Carter will continue to bloom in this week’s episode as well.
The Legends are now ready to take on their first battle as a team, so you would not want to miss it happening in this week’s episode! Catch the thrilling promos available online and then schedule ahead to watch this Thursday’s Legends Of Tomorrow season 1 episode 2, Pilot: Part Two, at 8/7c on The CW.
