Nicki Minaj recently spoke out on some harsh comments made by Wendy Williams about her new husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty. The couple recently were married in a surprise ceremony on October 21, and Minaj took to Instagram to announce the news. Who is the guy who gets to call himself Nicki Minaj’s husband? Find out about this new couple and what Barbie had to say to Williams in our Kenneth Petty wiki.
Kenneth Petty Is a Registered Sex Offender
Kenneth “Zoo” Petty was born on April 7, 1979 and hails from Queens, New York. Nicki Minaj revealed she’s dating him in 2018, but her fans think he’s bad news due to his sex offender status.
Petty has a disturbing criminal history, including the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1994. He went to prison for almost four years for the crime and was registered as a level two sex offender in New York, indicating that he is at moderate risk of committing the crime again.
But that’s not the only thing that has raised a few brows among the Barbz. Petty has been arrested several times over the years, including for first-degree manslaughter after he shot a man. He served seven years for the manslaughter charge.
Last year, Minaj defended her then-boyfriend on the attempted rape charges in an Instagram comment writing: “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship,” she replied. “But go awf, Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
Minaj and Petty Used to Date in Their Teens
Nicki Minaj made her relationship with Petty Instagram official in December 2018, around the time the felon began sporting a huge neck tattoo dedicated to her. It seemed like they had been dating for a while before taking the next step. It’s not known how long they were together before making their romance public, but their relationship isn’t exactly new.
According to several reports, pre-fame Minaj, who is about four years younger than Petty, dated him for a while when she was 16. Minaj has since had very public relationships with Safaree Samuels, Meek Mills, and Nas.
They rekindled their relationship and it looks like it’s serious. Minaj is keen to tie the knot with Petty, as she revealed on Queen Radio that they got a marriage license.
“We did get our marriage license,” the former American Idol judge said. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
Petty also stars in the very explicit music video for Nicki Minaj’s newest song, “Megatron.”
Petty Reportedly Has Five Children
Very little is known about Kenneth Petty’s personal life, and he’s not on social media, either. Although he does feature heavily on Minaj’s Instagram jetsetting with the Queen around the world.
He reportedly has five children from his previous relationships. But the children’s and their mother(s)’ identities are not known.
It’s unclear what Petty does for a living. However, recent reports claim that he’s currently working in the music industry.
No One Disses Nicki’s Husband and Gets Away with It
Minaj recently held nothing back as she clapped back at talk show diva Wendy Williams. The soon-to-be divorcee labeled Minaj’s husband a “killer” because of his dark past while discussing their new marriage on her show. And according to the “Side to Side” singer, this wasn’t the first time.
After hearing about the negative comments from Williams, Minaj went on her Queen Radio show on November 1 and fired back, saying, “Every time you mention him you feel the need to bring these things up. It’s not about doing your job. There are people who report the news and there are people who do it with an evil intent in her heart; viciousness.”
Minaj said she would “pray” for Williams but followed it up by saying she “must be sick and humiliated.” She accused Williams of aiding in her husband’s affair with his mistress by paying for her shopping sprees and implied that she is no one to judge.
In another cryptic response to a Twitter fan on November 5, Barbie added that she plans to speak out more on her issues with Williams in her next episode of Queen Radio.
