Even celebrities aren’t always safe from public embarrassment. Just ask actress Katherine Heigl, who suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction while cameras were rolling.
Earlier today, Heigl tweeted, “You know when you do something REALLY embarrassing and you hope no one saw it. …Then you realize the WHOLE WORLD did?!”
A minute later she posted a follow-up tweet, this time with a bit more explanation. Heigl shared a collage of photos of herself wearing a fitted black bodysuit with a white pencil skirt that wasn’t quite pulled up all the way, revealing her nearly bare bottom in front of a crowd of people. In the caption, she wrote, “I think this really tells the whole ‘tail’ of my humiliation!” She also included the hashtags, “publiclypantsedmyself,” and, “stillshameblushing.”
In the comments, Heigl clarified that she was changing for a scene they were filming, and the wardrobe switch “didn’t quite go to plan.”
Heigl’s Twitter fans seemed to appreciate the actress being able to laugh at herself and even added that the slip-up might just lead to other opportunities. As one Twitter follower commented, “Atleast you have a good sense of humor about it!!! You’ll probably be getting phone calls from Maxim Mag now [sic]!” (It wouldn’t be the first time—Heigl did a steamy shoot for Maxim and was on the cover of their June 2000 issue.)
There’s no word on what exactly Heigl was shooting in the new Twitter pictures, but judging by her outfit, it was more than likely the TV production Doubt, in which the actress plays a high-flying defense lawyer who gets intimately involved with one of her clients accused of committing a brutal crime.
