The Life of Pablo hit number one on the Billboard 200, and the album is now the focus and inspiration for the next Kanye West tour. The world-renowned hip hop artist has opened up about the live events and what fans can expect, as well as a variety of other topics. Will the The Life of Pablo tour be as successful as the album that it is named after?

On May 3, during an appearance on comedian and TV personality Steve Harvey’s morning show, Kanye West finally discussed the long-anticipated tour to celebrate the release of The Life of Pablo, West’s seventh and newest studio album, which was released on February 14, 2016. The most important tidbit regarding the tour that West revealed is that it is going to begin at some point in September. Between now and then, his only confirmed planned gig is playing the New York Governor’s Ball Music Festival in June; a tweet from a Portland radio station said he’d be in town in July, but that tweet has since been deleted.

West said that they’re already planning ideas for the tour, and that he actually hopes it has an impact on attendees and changes their lives. “I’m trying to literally inspire these kids the way Disney inspired me,” he explained, “the way, you know, when I saw the original Star Wars.” Quite a bold statement, but that’s par for the course for Kanye West.

Another topic discussed with Steve Harvey included The Life of Pablo‘s opening track, “Ultralight Beam,” and how the song only came together about a week and a half before the album dropped. West also addressed his January comments to Wiz Khalifa about “owning” his child, stating he has since apologized to the fellow artist and that he has nothing but respect for people who are parents.
