Johnny Depp is all set to marry his younger woman, Amber Heard, later this year—the celebrity couple is reportedly planning to exchange vows in the Bahamas, where Depp owns a private island.
The 50-year-old actor, who’s estimated to be worth around $350 million, is said to be so infatuated with Amber Heard, 28, and their upcoming marriage that he supposedly told his friends he isn’t worried about protecting his money with a prenup. And that isn’t sitting too well with his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis.
The former celebrity couple has two kids together and she’s reportedly worried that if Johnny Depp forgoes the prenup, it will only end up hurting the kids’ inheritance in the future. “[Vanessa Paradis] can’t believe Johnny could be so stupid to think he can get away with having no prenup. And she’s told him that in no uncertain terms,” revealed an insider, adding that Paradis “wants everything laid out in writing.”
In the past, Johnny Depp has admitted that he doesn’t see the need for marriage, which is why he and Vanessa Paradis were together for 14 years, but never married. “I never found myself needing that piece of paper,” Depp said back in 2010. “Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need someone to say, okay you’re married.”
He makes a reasonable point, but what we’d like to know is how Amber Heard managed to change his mind, because there are probably a lot of other younger women out there who would love to get in on that secret.
What do you think: Is Vanessa Paradis just upset because Johnny Depp never married her, or is her concern for their kids’ future valid?
