Though he’s been an accomplished wrestler for over a decade, some may relate him to his cameo in Amy Schumer’s comedy movie, Trainwreck.

After all his success, wrestling fans have probably been asking “How rich is John Cena?” Well, the John Cena net worth has been estimated to be $35.0 million.

Early Life

John Felix Anthony Cena, Jr. was born in April of 1977 in West Newbury, Massachusetts, to parents Carol and John Cena. He is the second oldest of five brothers, and he has Italian and French-Canadian and English ancestry. He originally attended Central Catholic High School before being transferred to Cushing Academy, a private prep school for which Cena’s family paid $30,000 a year in tuition. After high school, Cena graduated Springfield College with a degree in exercise physiology in 1998. He decided not to enlist in the military since he didn’t want to sacrifice all the weight and muscle he had worked hard to gain.

Career Achievements

Cena is famous for his WWE career achievements during his time as a professional wrestler and was inspired by Hulk Hogan. Cena began wrestling in 2000, and since then he has won 10 World Titles and three WWE World Championships. He made his debut in Ultimate Pro Wrestling and took home the UPW Heavyweight Championship in 2001. In 2001, Cena signed a contract with the WWE and after a while his salary has been estimated to be as high as $10.0 million a year. He is seventh longest-reigning WWE Championship in history, as well as the winner of two Royal Rumble Matches (in 2008 and 2013).  He also received $5.0 million from his endorsements, which include Subway and Gillette.

Cena has also been featured in movies and TV shows, having guest starred as himself in season seven of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana and made appearances on: Punk’d, MADtv, Manhunt, Deal or No Deal, Psych, and Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race. Cena has also appeared in films such as The Marine, Trainwreck, 12 Rounds, and Legendary.

Rap Career

Aside from wrestling and acting, Cena also pursued a rap career. His album, You Can’t See Me debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number 15 spot (like it or not that’s an impressive spot for anyone). Though Cena didn’t care, he soon found out that some would rather be critics than fans, and he believed he was spreading an important message that related to who he was.

“If people want to say that I’m not down and I’m not a thug, no, I didn’t have to rob and shoot people to get where I am,” said Cena in a Pwpix interview. “But I can rock the mic, so give me the opportunity to rock the mic. Respect the art form rather than [say], ‘You have to have a thug background to be in the rap game.’ That’s just what I’m showing the kids, which is something different.”

John Cena’s house is a mansion in a private, gated community of nature’s Reserve in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. He purchased the spacious home for $750,000, and along with multiple bedrooms and baths, it comes complete with a pool and its very own boat dock. The garage is used to store Cena’s vintage car collection which includes a 1969 Dodge Daytona, a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro, a 1971 Pontiac GTO, and a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner.

Personal Life

Cena was married to Elizabeth Huberdeau for nearly three years, but then filed for divorce. Their divorce wasn’t very pleasant until they decided to settle amicably two months later. In 2012, he began dating Nikki Bella, a fellow professional wrestler and actress. The two are still dating despite the fact that Cena has told Bella that he doesn’t want to get married or have kids; so far, they are not engaged despite rumors claiming otherwise.

Cena is the first celebrity to grant 500 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He uses his celebrity to inspire terminally ill children, and he still gets letters from the children and their families whom he has helped.

“I want them to have an experience that will stay with them to forever,” Cena said in a WWE interview. “I don’t ever want the children or their families to be treated in a way where they feel as if they’re up against anything at all.”
