Bazinga! In recent celebration to Jim Parsons’ 44th birthday, we’ve decided to celebrate The Big Bang Theory actor’s achievements with information on his life, career and success. Considering Jim Parson’s net worth is $70.0 million, many are curious as to how exactly his wealth stacks up. We’ve got the details here.

From Jim Parsons’ salary to his partner, we have everything you need to know about how much The Big Bang Theory star makes and his latest pay cut.

Jim Parson’s Age and Early Life

Jim Parsons was born on March 24, 1973 in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Houston and in 2001, he received his master’s degree at the University of San Diego. He also lived in New York for a while in order to pursue his dream of acting and found work in theater.

How Much is Jim Parson’s Worth?

Like any actor, Parsons started off in small roles and worked his way up, but it wasn’t until 2007 —when he landed a lead role in the CBS hit sitcom, The Big Bang Theory— did Parsons rise to fame and make the big bucks! He is best known for his role as neurotic, antisocial theoretical physicist, Sheldon Cooper, one of four scientists who deal with life, love, and comics in Los Angeles, along with their waitress/aspiring actress friend, Penny.

This role has allowed Jim Parsons salary to be increased to $1.0 million per episode, which is the same amount his other four costars make. That’s a lot of comics!

What is Jim Parsons’ Net Worth?

Jim Parsons’ net worth is reported at $70.0 million and the majority of that wealth stems from his earnings on The Big Bang Theory. Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper is seen as the most annoying, yet loveable character and is comedy gold for CBS. There’s no pulling the plug on the show, which is now in its tenth season and has just been renewed for at least two more! The show has won four Emmys and continues to be a pop culture icon, showing the cooler side to being a genius. For some, the show has to grow on you, while for others, it was an instant TV addiction. Parsons aced his audition so well, that Chuck Lorre had to call him back to do another audition because he couldn’t believe his performance.

Although Parsons has stated in past interviews that he doesn’t share his character’s intelligence, many fans have loved how he processes the scientific jargon and acts out all of Sheldon’s quirks. Those quirks have led Parsons to live a very lavish lifestyle and maintain job security, something that isn’t so easily done in Hollywood. Actors are paid well, but not for very long in most cases and they’re all freelancers when you think about it. Sure, their bathrooms are bigger than most apartments in any downtown core, but they never know when their next job is lined up. A problem that doesn’t include Parsons, who will be knee deep in science books for the next two years, at least.

He’s Getting a Pay Cut

Parsons is saying goodbye to his $1.0 million an episode pay check, but it’s by his own choice. As the series moves forward, series regulars Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) and Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski) are now receiving raises, thanks to their costars, who graciously decided to cut their salaries by $100,000 an episode. Series regulars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar all made $1.0 million an episode, while their costars Bialik and Rauch were making $220,000 per episode. So, they will be making approximately $450,000 per episode for the show’s potential eleventh and twelfth seasons. A cast hasn’t pulled off a stunt like that since Friends was on the air, when both Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were making the most in the show’s second season. Since then, the cast made the same salary every season and negotiated as a group.

Jim Parsson’s Partner

For more than a decade, Parson has been in a relationship with his boyfriend, graphic designer Todd Spiewak. Parsons has been considered and activist for being openly gay in Hollywood and a lead in one of TV’s most popular sitcoms.

“I’ve never considered myself an activist,” Parsons said in an E! interview. “I’ve never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism. Rather simply, it’s an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs [out]—a regular life, boring love.”

They both live together with their two dogs in a 1920s Spanish-style home in Los Angeles. You can also have a look at Jim parson’s Instagram account to get a better look into his lifestyle!

Jim Parson’s House

Aside from Parsons’ current address among Hollywood’s wealthiest residents, he also had a property in New York, which he purchased for $1.822 million, with Spiewak, across from Gramercy Park.

Jim Parsons seems to be living the high life and making a name for himself in Hollywood. But, even if all he’s ever known for is his role as Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, it seems he’ll do just fine. There are worst things to be known for than the nerd on that TV show who always made us laugh!
