You can see Jennifer Hudson in the recently released Netflix original, Sandy Wexler. The film stars Hudson, Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Terry Crews, Rob Schneider, Colin Quinn, Nick Swardson, and Arsenio Hall. It is about a talent agent named Sandy Wexler (Sandler) in 1990s Hollywood, who falls in love with his newest client, Courtney Clarke (Hudson). Wexler is used to working with eccentric clients, but is tested when he finds someone with genuine talent. Though the film has met with some unfavorable reviews after its worldwide release, some critics have praised Hudson’s performance.

A Dark Drama

Another on of Jennifer Hudson’s upcoming films in 2017 is Monster, produced by Bron Studios. The movie will feature an ensemble cast including Hudson, Kelvin Harrison Jr., A$AP Rocky, Nas, Tim Blake Nelson, John David Washington, and Jennifer Ehle. The Hunger Games star, Jeffery Wright will also star in this drama about a 17-year-old named Steve (Harrison Jr.), who is an honor student and aspiring filmmaker in Harlem. He is charged with felony murder for a crime he says he did not commit. Though no release date has been set, audiences should expect to see Monster some time this fall.

Jennifer Hudson is one of those rare stars, who can both act and sing. Audiences are eagerly awaiting her fourth studio album from which she has recently released the single, “Remember Me.” Aside from her music, fans of her acting chops are looking forward to Hudson’s new movies in 2017.
