After joining Weight Watchers in 2010, Hudson became a spokesperson for the company. Jennifer Hudson’s Weight Watchers’ plan helped her go from a size 16 to a size 6 over five years ago, and now, the Oscar winner looks more amazing than ever!

How much weight did Jennifer Hudson lose? According to sources, Hudson lost at least 80 pounds with Weight Watchers. That’s an incredible achievement by any standards! She said that it was not about the number on the scale or the size of her clothes. When asked about whether or not she wanted to lose more weight, Hudson said, “I like meat on my bones. A [size] 2 and a 0, that’s not for me.”

Instead of crash-dieting or diet pills, Jennifer Hudson chose portion control and exercise to lose weight. Hudson’s weight loss journey began after gave birth to her son, David. She revealed her secrets to staying fit saying, “I don’t let the food intimidate me. If it’s too much, I just get rid of it, but I make sure to watch what I put in my body. And I make sure I know what it is. I always have to have chocolate around – it’s my cigarette. I don’t smoke, but it calms me so well. I don’t like too much junk in my dressing room because I have to watch what I eat, so I put everything else out of the room.”

Making Time to Enjoy Herself

Hudson regularly trained with Harley Pasternak, an expert at whipping his celebrity clients into shape with strict workouts. This includes his famous 25-minute, 5-factor workout. Hudson put her own twist on the exercise plan by making it fun for herself. She turned her love for basketball into a way to keep herself fit. “I love basketball. It’s fun; you don’t even realize you’re working out. [You] just keep that metabolism going and just keep that energy up. That’s that cardio —you’re getting it in, and you don’t even realize it,” she explained. At Jennifer Hudson’s height of 5’9″, we would not want to be up against her on the court!
