When does Jeepers Creepers 3 come out? The film is set to screen for one night only, on September 26th, 2017 at participating AMC and Cinemark theaters. But what’s so special about this single Jeepers Creepers 2017 release date? September 26th is the same release date as the previous two films, so it’s all to keep the tradition alive! Also known as Ravenous, the film’s first official images have already been released and the creepy sneak peek makes it look more terrifying than ever before! The official synopsis for Jeepers Creepers 2017 reads: “On the last day of the Creeper’s twenty-three-day feeding frenzy, skeptical Sargent Tubbs teams up with a task force hell bent on destroying the Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.”

“Jeepers Creepers, Where’d You Get Those Peepers?”

It all started back in 2001 when the original horror flick released, and quickly gained a cult following in the horror genre community. It gained such a positive response that it warranted a sequel, which released in 2003. The sequel, which also did well at the box office, took fans of the original on another horror ride, this time involving a bus full of teenagers. It’s been 14 years since then, and now a third installment is finally on its way. The film is rated R and is an hour and 40 minutes long. The narrative is said to happen between the first and second films, and that this third installment happens when the Creeper is coming to the end of its once-every-23-years feeding cycle. Creepy!

Reports say that Gina Philips will continue her role as Trish from the original, and Jonathan Breck will play the Creeper once more. According to some insiders, the film leaves room for a possible continuation, so fans can hope for more Jeepers Creepers films in the years ahead!

Why Did It Take So Long for “Jeepers Creepers 3” to Come Out?

The delay was partially because director and writer, Victor Salva has a criminal record, which made filming the movie in Canada an issue. Reports say he was convicted of pedophilia in 1988, and the case resurfaced while he was working on the film’s third installment. This led to the cancellation of casting calls for Jeepers Creepers 3, and the delay of the scheduled filming in British Columbia, Canada. The director already spent time in jail for three years, and served 15 months after his conviction of having inappropriate relations with child actor, Nathan Forrest Winters, who was 12 years old at the time.

Despite the controversy, the film continued to push through and according to sequel producer Stan Spry, “It is not cancelled. Producers are working on the domestic distribution deal.” For a sneak peek, check out the skin crawling Jeepers Creepers 3 trailer below!
