Looks like Janet Jackson is going to be a mom! That’s right: the 49-year-old is postponing her world tour and planning a family with her husband, Qatari business magnate Wassam Al Mana. But if you’re thinking that Janet Jackson is pregnant, you’re wrong! The All for You singer is not officially pregnant, but she is still delaying the rest of her tour to follow doctor’s orders and rest up. (That means no crazy dance moves!)
Jackson married Al Mana in a secret wedding ceremony in 2012 and didn’t publicly confirm their union until 2013. This would be Jackson’s third marriage and the pair don’t have any kids from other relationships.
Jackson took to Twitter to inform her fans of her surprising news, as confirmed by Entertainment Tonight. “Please, if you could try to understand that it’s important that I do this now,” Jackson asked of her fans. “I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.” Most fans were probably thinking “WTF, we have to wait nine months?!”; however, that’s not likely since Jackson has been looking into adoption for a while.
The Unbreakable singer continued on to thank her fans, crew, and music partner, Live Nation. Janet Jackson’s husband has been fully supportive of the singer’s decision.
But this isn’t the first time Jackson has delayed a tour due to personal reasons. The singer had to delay part of her BURNITUP tour due to health reasons and had to resume it at a later time. Fans are normally understanding but can also take the news badly, especially when they’ve invested in flights, hotels, and other non-refundable expenses—being a fan isn’t cheap!
In an Us Weekly article, the singer revealed that she was quietly looking into adoption and was thinking of adopting from a third-world country with her husband.
So, what do you think? Is the singer being selfish or do you accept her apology? Let us know in the comments below.
