Jane the Virgin season 2 episode 8 airs tonight and will mark the series’ mid-season finale. The first half of the season has been incredibly well received, so what better way to break from it than with a few more prestigious award nominations? It works out really well that tonight’s finale episode, titled “Chapter Thirty,” will be airing on the same day that the show racked up three Critics’ Choice Awards nominations.
The list of nominees was released earlier this morning and includes Jane the Virgin in three different categories: Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (for Jaime Camil), and Best Actress in a Comedy Series (for Gina Rodriguez).
Both Camil and Rodriguez took to Twitter to express their gratitude for the recognition. Rodriguez posted, “Way to start a Monday morning! Thank you #criticsChoice the critics have had my back since day 1 [sic]!” Camil posted a picture of a headline from Variety about the nominees and added the caption, “What a beautiful way to start the day… Thank you @CriticsChoice #blessed #JaneTheVirgin [sic].”

Jane the Virgin season 2 episode 8 will also follow Jane biological father, Rogelio (Camil’s character), struggling to trust his new intern and Jane trying to figure out how she’s going to pay for grad school after learning that her scholarship doesn’t quite pan out as planned.
If you’re looking for where to watch the latest episode, your best bet is to tune in tonight (December 14)—Jane the Virgin season 2 episode 8 will be airing at 9:00 p.m. EST on The CW. “Chapter Thirty” will also likely be available to watch on The CW web site after tonight’s airing.
