NBA player Chris Paul has been with his wife, Jada Crawley, for more than a decade now. The Houston Rockets player calls her his best friend and has credited several of his career milestones to his supportive leading lady.
Chris Paul of the Houston Rockets had to exit Game 6 of the Western Conference finals because of a hamstring injury. It’s too soon to tell Paul’s future in the 2018 season, but we do know he’ll have the unwavering support of his wife. Jada Crawley has been married to Chris Paul for years and has had his back throughout his career.
When Rivalry Led to Romance
Jada Alexia Crawley was born on February 16, 1984, in North Carolina. She attended Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, a rival high school to West Forsyth High School, which Chris Paul attended.
They both went to Wake Forest University in North Carolina. But Crawley, who’s a year older than Paul, was his senior. She once said that their one-year age gap would have been contentious had they dated before college.
On December 28, 2003, Crawley attended a basketball game at Wake Forest. And that’s where she met the team’s star player.
Chris Paul certainly took notice of her in that moment. So, he asked their mutual friend to introduce him to her. They hit it off and began dating. It has since become an important day to this couple, for which Paul never forgets to get his wife flowers.
They’ve been together since they were 18, including the time Paul was selected by the New Orlean Hornets in the 2005 NBA draft.
Taking the Plunge in Style
Chris Paul dropped down on one knee to pop the question to Jada Crawley in the very same gymnasium they met! They tied the knot in a star-studded wedding ceremony on September 10, 2011, when Chris was 26 and Jada was 27.
The couple enlisted celebrity wedding guru, David Tutera to plan their wedding in Charlotte, NC. Vera Wang gifted Crawley with one of her beautiful wedding dress creations, while Paul wore a custom Ralph Lauren tux.
Their son, Christopher Emmanuel Paul, Jr., who was born on May 23, 2009, was also part of the wedding celebrations. And he got to match his daddy right down to the cufflinks!
NBA’s biggest names attended the wedding, along with the couple’s family and friends. LeBron James was one of the groomsmen. James’ then-girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, was also one of Crawley’s bridesmaids.
Other attendees at the wedding included Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Speedy Claxton, Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, and Carmelo Anthony with Lala Vasquez.
Robin Thicke performed at the reception with a rendition of “The Sweetest Love” for the couple’s first dance. Gospel singer, Bebe Winans and MC Lyte were also the musical acts for the night.
The Family that Plays Together
Chris Jr. became pretty famous in the media with the numerous appearances he made with his dad. He’s Paul and Crawley’s eldest son, and he won some serious bragging rights when he beat Grant Hill in a one-on-one game!
Their second child, a daughter they named Camryn Alexis Paul, was born on August 16, 2012. That same year, Paul bought a Mediterranean-style mansion in Bel-Air from Avril Lavigne for $8.5 million.
Their son is certainly following in Paul’s footsteps to the hardwood court! The proud parents can’t stop gushing about Chris Jr.’s basketball skills on their Instagram accounts.
Chris Jr. even has his own Instagram account, with way more followers than even his mom. (Not that it’s a competition or anything!)
When Paul moved from the L.A. Clippers to the Houston Rockets, they rented a home until Crawley found a massive mansion in the Houston area for them to live. Crawley ensured that their family stayed together—and we mean the whole family!
Crawley arranged for Paul’s brother, CJ to move there with them, along with his own family. CJ, a collegiate basketball player himself, is also Paul’s manager.
Jada documented her new life adjusting to Houston on Instagram, and so far, she looks like she loves the new city! They had a little hiccup when someone stole her Range Rover’s license plate, but that did nothing to dampen her spirits.

Jada is so admirable, Chris can’t resist praising her for all that she does! And he’s over the moon crediting his wife for finding their gorgeous new Houston home! She not only keeps the family together, she also has her own part in Paul’s philanthropy. Jada and Chris actively give back to the community and helm various events through the Chris Paul Family Foundation.
She hosts an annual “Prom Dress Giveaway” through the foundation, too. High school seniors gather at the event where they get clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup tutorials, hairstyling tips, and even participate in a Prom fashion show!
Paul posted the sweetest message on Instagram for their sixth wedding anniversary last year. He talks about her in interviews and gives her credit for his achievements.
Paul once said, “I truly love Jada; she has been there for the ups and the downs. Basketball isn’t going to last forever. Jada and I love spending time with each other, genuinely.”
These two are the epitome of #couplesgoals and it looks like they’ve hit the jackpot with each other!
