In January 2017, Netflix CCO, Ted Sarandos said that Iron Fist was “eligible to go into multiple seasons for sure,” but they would first need to study viewer feedback before making a decision. Though the series has been criticized by multiple publications, Netflix is confident that viewers will ultimately like the show. Irrespective of what the critics have said, the record of successful Netflix shows outweighs unsuccessful ones, leaving the streaming service hopeful for Iron Fist‘s success. Netflix is hoping that viewers will respond well to Iron Fist, as the superhero’s series makes way for The Defenders with Marvel’s Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand (Finn Jones), set to be released in mid-2017.
