Karamo Brown dishes lifestyle advice on Queer Eye and helps people to be their best selves. Outside of the show, though, Brown is already living his best life with his kids and his partner. Brown is engaged to Ian Jordan, who’s not entirely new to showbiz. And they are preparing to tie the knot soon! (If it’s not too much to ask, Netflix, can we get a tiny peek into their wedding on Queer Eye?) They are so absolutely smitten with each other that we can’t help but gush over Karamo Brown and his fiancé in Ian Jordan’s wiki.

Ian Jordan Is from Maine

Ian Lamont Jordan was born on May 8, 1971, and hails from Westbrook in Maine. While we’ve seen his mom Carole Jordan, a cancer survivor, often on his social media, his father, Robert G. Jordan, passed away.

He has at least two sisters, Beth and Susan, and brothers, but it’s rare for all the siblings to gather together. They do have pictures from their infrequent family gatherings, though.

Jordan graduated from Westbrook High School and currently lives in L.A. His mother lives in Maine but often joins Jordan on jetsetting trips around the world, or one of their many Palm Springs vacations.

Jordan Is a Director Who Worked for Disney and Nickelodeon

Jordan is a member of the Directors Guild of America and has worked as an assistant director on some of our favorite shows. In his career, he has worked for Paramount and on shows on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.

Among his latest credits, he was second assistant director on multiple episodes of Raven’s Home. He previously worked on Suite Life of Zack and Cody and almost the entire run of Suite Life on Deck.

A look at his Instagram will give you a peek into his time at Nickelodeon, where he worked on the School of Rock TV reboot and Instant Mom. He was also part of the crew for the previous generation of Nickelodeon shows like Zoey 101, Drake and Josh, All That, and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Jordan also worked on CBS shows Fam, which was canceled after one season this year, and Friend Me, which remains unaired.

Brown Proposed to Jordan on His Birthday

Karamo Brown detailed his love story for Martha Stewart Weddings, starting from the time he met Jordan outside a West Hollywood Club almost a decade ago. It was love at first sight for Brown, who sneaked up behind the director and literally swooped him off his feet. “He literally started hitting my head and said, ‘Put me down!’”Brown recalled.

Brown invited Jordan to his birthday party the next day and even told his family that he’d found the one. “I went home and told my whole family I met the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with, and that they’d meet him tomorrow,” said Brown.

Unfortunately, Jordan never showed up to Brown’s birthday. It was a misunderstanding due to Brown not updating his social media profiles to “single” back then.

They moved past that, nonetheless, and began dating. Brown has a son, Jason, with a woman he dated before he came out. He also adopted Jason’s half-brother, Chris. The boys are also a big part of Jordan’s life, as he mentions he’s a “dad” on his social media profiles.

During one of Jordan’s visits to Brown as he filmed Queer Eye, the couple had a long discussion about their long-term relationship plans and whether they were on the same page. During that talk, Jordan told Brown that he was planning on proposing.

But Brown knew his boyfriend would take his time to plan a proposal, which gave him the opportunity to surprise him with one of his own. After asking Carole Jordan’s permission to marry her son, Brown threw a surprise birthday party for Jordan last May.

At the party, after a sweet video by Brown and an emotional speech from his son, Brown went down on one knee and popped the question with David Yurman rings. And Jordan’s answer was, of course, yes.

The couple is hoping to wed in 2020, but the preparations might be taking a toll on them. Apparently, Brown is turning into a groom-zilla, which gave Jordan a panic attack during Thanksgiving 2018 and he had to be rushed to a hospital. Here’s hoping we get a peek inside their wedding festivities.
