Their once blissful marriage came to an end after nine years. Although separated, the two were still legally married until 2009. Conrad moved next door to the Playboy Mansion.

Talking about his divorce, Hefner revealed, “I would’ve been happy to divorce her when we separated, but she wanted to remain married for our boys.”

The decision to get divorced came after Conrad sued Hefner for $5.0 million for the sale of a house they owned together. He denied owing her money, adding that he paid her $250,000 a year as agreed upon in their prenuptial agreement. Their divorce was finalized in 2010.

Hefner reportedly stated Conrad cheated on him while they were together, despite the fact that he remained faithful.

Rumors Surrounding Their Marriage

After getting married, there was a rumor that Conrad refused to let people party at the Playboy Mansion which she denied by saying, “There was a common misconception that I put the whole kibosh on the partying at the Mansion.” She added, “It had nothing to do with me. The Playmates still came over, but it was nice to have them call and say, ‘Hi! I’m coming up!’ Let the office know. It was still wide open. It was still the ultimate restaurant and health club with a 24-hour membership. We never refused anyone, ever. But it’s nice to know that there’s going to be people in your house when you’re coming downstairs in the morning. It was always an open door and open gate.”
