Where is Flip from Street Outlaws? The hit show’s tenth season starts tonight and many are left wondering about one of its main drivers and how he died. How did Flip from Street Outlaws die? For more on that and the show, here is everything there is to know about Flip’s death.
Who is Flip from Street Outlaws?
Tyler “Flip” Priddy was born Tyler Gene Priddy on November 30, 1981, and he would have been turning 36 in a few days. He was a husband, father, and brother but not much is known about his family. He died on May 28, 2013.
Flip was known for racing his 1980 Chevy El Camino, which as many know, was named “The Old Slut” because of her mixed parts, which Flip borrowed, begged, or stole. Every race could have been her last but Flip loved driving her and she reportedly had more nitrous in her “than any other car in the country.” Flip was also friends with Big Chief. They grew up as kids and rode their bikes to watch the local street races together. Flip was known for smoking, drinking beer, and smack-talking. Kamikaze drove the El Camino after Flip but fans still wish it was being driven by its old owner.
What Happened to Flip on Street Outlaws?
Flip’s cause of death is unknown and he is survived by his wife, Morgan and their kids: Tovey Gene, Remey J, Dresdyn Rinot, and Bennett William Edward. He lived in Yukon, Oklahoma and worked as the parts manager at Warren Caterpillar for a decade. While many have speculated that his death was suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, there’s no evidence to support that theory. Many of his fans on the Discovery Channel message boards left their sympathetic words and well wishes.
One comment read: “I will miss Flip. He seamed to be a level-headed young man that new how to make his car run with the best of them even though he used others discarded parts. The show and Flip was not a fake they all are real motor heads. I am all but 72 and still looking for the next light to light race. You boys keep on enjoying your self’s and lookup to the heavens because Flip will be watching [sic].”
Another comment read: “To Street outlaws and discovery crew, felt something was going to happen how program was shown in UK last night, Flip came over as a brilliant laugh with his ‘repairs’ and were very sorry to hear that Flip has passed away, we hope that something is done to commemorate his life with the rest of the series of Street Outlaws, memories that you all have, will guide you all through this rough time. Glad FLIP went out on a high whilst racing out of state. Take care ya’ll over in the USA [sic].”
Season 10 of Street Outlaws airs on Monday, November 27 at 9:00 p.m. EST on Discovery Channel.
