Halle Berry just celebrated her second wedding anniversary with husband Olivier Martinez, but not everything in her life is hearts and roses. The 48-year-old actress is currently going head to head in court with her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, over child support payments for their seven-year-old daughter, Nahla.
It’s been previously reported that Berry is fighting to have her payments reduced by more than half, from $16,000 each month ($192,000 a year) to $3,000. Her claim is that Aubry, a French-Canadian model, is avoiding work because he’s just living off of her beefed up checks. Berry reportedly doesn’t have any issues with making a financial contribution when he has physical custody of their daughter (they currently both share custody), but she no longer wants to foot the lengthy bill for everything else.
Aubry, on the other hand, is reportedly claiming that he’s lost out on a lot of modeling jobs since he was brutally attacked by Halle Berry’s current husband. The altercation went down back in November 2012 over Aubry refusing to let Berry move to France with their daughter. Both Aubry and Martinez required treatment for their injuries, but judging by the photos from leaked court documents, Aubry suffered significant damage to his face—tough break for a model.
The court battle between Berry and Aubry is still ongoing and a judge has yet to decide what the exact amount of child support will be.
