We’ve never stopped rooting for Peter Dinklage in any Game of Thrones episode so far. Looking at the actor’s brilliant performance, Tyrion Lannister promises to be an apt and “cool” ruler of the Iron Throne. So, it even adds to our excitement when we wonder: Is Tyrion Lannister a Targaryen? After watchingGame of Thrones season 6 episode 2, everyone’s pretty sure that the “Tyrion Lannister = Targaryen” theory could actually be true!

This is turning out to be the hottest Game of Thrones debate ever. Soon after watching “Home” (GoT S06E02), people had only one query in mind: Is Tyrion Lannister a Targaryen? As the latest Game of Thrones episode ended the prolonging doubt on whether Jon Snow is alive, it made a whole other twist with its characters. Season six of Game of Thrones shed some much-needed light on the Tyrion Lannister = Targaryen theory.

Is Tyrion Lannister a Targaryen?

This new Game of Thrones fan theory is based on the recent circumstances revealed in Game of Thrones season 6 episode 2,  “Home.” As the episode showed us how Jon Snow came back to life, it also revealed an unexpected turn of events. The episode showed Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Lord  Varys (Conleth Hill) enter the dungeon of Khaleesi’s dragons. We all know what happens when a human besides Khaleesi/Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) comes in front of the dragons. Watch the clip from Game of Thrones season 6 episode 2 in the video below and see Tyrion Lannister’s encounter with Khaleesi’s dragons.

Strangely, Tyrion Lannister didn’t get burned or roasted alive, although one of the dragons was so ready to blow fire. The moment Tryion was in front of them, the dragons approached him in a way they usually do with their mother, Khaleesi. And, when you see these dragons not attacking someone, you start thinking that the person could be family!

So, was that a sneak peek for a possible Game of Thrones future? The future seasons and episode might be based on a plot showing Tyrion Lannister being a Targaryen. And, there’s a lot more adding to this Tyrion Lannister = Targaryen fan theory. First, you ought to have noticed Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) always rejecting ideas from his son, Tyrion Lannister.

The Secret Targaryens

This smells like a “true blood” issue within the Lannister family. If you keep up with the series, you must know that Tyrion Lannister’s mother Joanna Lannister died at the time of his birth. But, what you may not know is the Tyrion Lannister is not the son of Tywin! According to the books by George R. R. Martin, Joanna Lannister and King Aerys Targaryen might have conceived during her stay in King’s Landing.

This makes Tyrion Lannister a Targaryen and also a half-brother of Daenerys. That’s right: Tyrion and the Khaleesi could be siblings, considering King Aerys was her real father! And now, you’ll be even more surprised to know Tyrion Lannister as another Targaryen cousin. Even though Jon Snow’s (Kit Harrington) mother was Lyanna Stark (Cordelia Hill), he is also the son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Coincidentally, Tyrion’s mother Joanna, Daenerys’ mother Rhaella, and Jon Snow’s mother Lyanna all died in childbirth.

This makes Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow the true heirs to the Iron Throne. This could be the biggest shocker of the day for all of us!
