Alicia Keys announced that the release of her next album is only a few weeks away. She’s also pre-released one of the tracks from her album that’s deeply personal to her. Read on to learn more about her upcoming album, Here.

Any new album from Alicia Keys is certainly worth the wait. The Voice coach has announced November 4th as the release date for her upcoming new album, Here. Too long a wait? Lucky for you, Alicia Keys has pre-released one track from the album, called “Blended Family.” The “Empire State of Mind” singer, who’s net worth is a whopping $130.0 million, has a deep personal connection with her upcoming album. It also promises of a message the way only Alicia Keys can do with her lyrics. Here’s everything known about Alicia Keys’ upcoming album, Here.

Album Release Date and the Pre-Released Track

Keys’ follow-up album to Girl on Fire (2012), Here will release on November 4. She’s already given us a taste of what the album holds by dropping her first single from the album, before its scheduled release date. “Blended Family (What You Do For Love)” is one of the songs from Here and features A$AP Rocky. “Blended Family” is available on iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal.

The album, as always, comes from Keys’ personal experience and contains meaningful messages in its lyrics. “Blended Family” is deeply personal to her and it comes from her experiences as a mother. Keys and her husband, Swiss Beatz are parents to their children, Egypt and Genesis. The couple is also raising the hip-hop artist’s older children, Nas, Kaseem and Nicole together with Beatz’ former wife, Mashonda Tifrere. Keys even gave a shout-out to Mashonda on Instagram, when she released “Blended Family.”

Here was still in the works in 2014 when Alicia was pregnant with son, Genesis, and the album was put on hold until he was born. In hindsight, she found that brief hiatus from the album beneficial. She was able to use her family as lyrical inspiration, and it changed the direction of the album.

Make-Up Free Album Cover Art

Here is Keys’ “most raw and honest” album to date. For the album’s cover, she decided to go fresh-faced, showing off her freckles and the natural beauty of her bare face. It certainly got fans talking about the significance behind the make-up free cover art. The album cover was shot by Paola Kudacki, who has previously photographed Beyonce and Angelina Jolie.

Keys had declared herself make-up free back in June. Since then, she has hit the red carpets without wearing any lipstick, mascara or any form of makeup. Instead of cosmetics, Keys keeps her skin glowing with facials, acupuncture, healthy eating and exercise on the advice of her makeup artist/skincare guru.

New York City Secret Concert

Keys recently performed in the TidalX1015 with stars like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, T.I. and many more. The funds from the charity concert would contribute to the Robin Hood Foundation’s efforts to fight poverty in New York City.

Keys is also now one of the coaches on the music reality competition, The Voice, alongside Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus. Keys is hoping to be the winning coach in her first stint as a coach, but she’s not going easy on the contestants either. According to her, the contestants need to learn that rejections and difficulties are part of the entertainment industry.

With her already busy schedule on The Voice and her concert appearances, Keys gave her fans in New York City a surprise last week. On October 9, NYC’s Times Square was Keys’ venue for the hour and half-long show. A$AP Rocky was there to perform her new hit “Blended Family” with her, as well as several of her artist friends. Of course, she had to also perform “Empire State of Mind,” along with hip-hop mogul, Jay-Z. They were after all in New York, the concrete jungle where dreams are made of!
