R&B artist Tamar Braxton, younger sister to singing sensation Toni Braxton, is one of the top contestants on the 21st season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. But the 38-year-old singer, reality show star, and TV host stays grounded, expressing her gratitude to her amazing partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who won the previous season of the show with Rumer Willis. Braxton shared an incredibly sweet message on Instagram, thanking her partner for helping her throughout the season and also encouraging others to go after their dreams. But some fans were actually confused, as it could be considered an “exit speech.”

The Grammy-nominated singer posted a photo of the two of them, mid-performance, with the caption, “Thank you so much to my amazing partner and friend @iamvalc for pushing me, being stern, and not letting me lose myself to what people think.”

Braxton added that she wanted Instagram followers and fans to fight for what they want and for who they aspire to become, writing, “…if I can do ANY of this you all can do this too and much, much more.”

The Dancing with the Stars contestant also expressed her gratitude, saying that she was “eternally grateful” to be invited to participate in the show. She thanked the viewers for voting for her and the judges for the high scores, ending with, “I love you.. Kill it & Be your BEST you [sic],” and the hashtags, “Calling all lovers” and “dwts.”

Although the post gained 5,000-plus likes in an hour, it also caused confusion, with some Instagram followers asking whether she was leaving the show or was eliminated. Other dedicated fans wished her the best and expressed their wish of wanting her to win. One comment praised her for entering the competition in the first place, saying, “Tamar, I admire your courage to say you are the best dancer in the confidence. It takes that confidence to push ourselves! Don’t lose your self esteem, not even a little bit! The judges are tougher on you because they know you ARE the BEST dancer. Keep your head up girl [sic].”

But fans should not worry; it appears this was just an outpouring of gratitude and not a farewell speech. There is no indication that Braxton is leaving Dancing with the Stars before she is officially eliminated or wins.
