Marco Rubio is Donald Trump’s latest target. Although the two Republicans have not gone at each other directly on social media yet, this comes as no surprise. Trump has retweeted about Rubio in the past, however nothing so direct as his latest tweets.

The business mogul took to social media to vent on the night of November 9, saying, “Marco Rubio is a total lightweight who I wouldn’t hire to run one of my smaller companies – a highly overrated politician!” Needless to say, the comments section was full of people arguing over which one of them is right. Even on Facebook, the post received no less than 15,000 likes and fans saying things like, “Very true Mr. Trump this Hispanic has your vote!!!” and “Marco, you’re fired!”

Within five minutes, Trump’s next post came: “Marco Rubio couldn’t even respond properly to President Obama’s State of the Union Speech without pouring sweat & chugging water. He choked!”

Again, posting a last tweet on Rubio, the presidential candidate wrote, “Marco Rubio is totally weak on illegal immigration & in favor of easy amnesty. A lightweight choker – bad for #USA! [sic].” With each tweet being liked over 2,000 times and shared by around 1,000 fans, it is clear that Trump’s supporters are growing in massive numbers.

Following this public bashing of Rubio, Trump went on to retweet praises of himself for appearing on Saturday Night Live on November 7. The episode he hosted apparently got the show’s highest views since 2012. His favorite tweet was probably the play on his campaign line: “Trump made SNL great again.”
