Two of our favorite daytime soaps have teased huge casting news this week. General Hospital is laying the groundwork for a Big Bad’s exit, and they’ve added new faces who might set up the character’s departure. Plus, one daytime veteran is making his return! Over at CBS, The Young and the Restless has fan-favorite characters packing major plot twists with their return.

Shiloh Departs from GH

Coby Ryan McLaughlin, who has played Shiloh on GH since 2018, recently teased his character’s exit from the show on a podcast. He then proceeded to confirm his departure on his Instagram stories.

“Hey guys, I just want to give a shoutout to everybody that made the experience I had on General Hospital so absolutely incredible,” Mclaughlin said on Instagram. “I’ve never been involved in a show like that before and I’ve never seen such incredible fans. You guys are truly amazing. I had an incredible time and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so welcome, even if you wanted to f’in hate me. And it’s true—he was a pretty despicable guy. But I’m glad I got to have the experience. I am glad I got to reach out to meet some of you and, hey man, onward and upward. I hope all is well with everyone out there and I’ll see y’all around.”

McLaughlin hasn’t given details about Shiloh’s final airdate and what manner of exit will Henry Archer’s son receive.

Brian Gross Joins as Peter’s Ally

Shiloh is not very well-liked in Port Charles, and fans are somewhat relieved to see him go. His only ally, Peter August (Wes Ramsey), doesn’t like him, either. Why would he when Shiloh blackmailed him into working with him?

But Peter is working on turning the tables on Shiloh and he’s employed Bryce to do that. Played by Brian Gross, who was Captain Kirk on Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II, Bryce made his GH debut in the September 18 episode, where he has been tasked with taking out Shiloh and Andre Maddox. Perhaps Bryce will play a part in Shiloh’s upcoming exit.

Michael E. Knight Comes to Port Charles

All My Children alum Michael E. Knight makes his GH debut on September 30. According to reports, his character will be nothing like Tad Martin from his previous daytime stint.
