After months of impatiently waiting for their favorite dancing reality show to announce its new season, we’re happy to let Dancing with the Stars fans know that the season 23 premiere aired on Monday, September 12 on ABC. #1 Laurie Hernandez
Fresh from her success at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, 16-year-old Laurie Hernandez joins the cast of DWTS 2016. She earned the silver medal in the individual balance beam, and contributed to Team U.S.A’s all-around gold medal. Famous for her fantastic floor exercise routine, she teams up with pro partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

#2 Marilu Henner
The legendary actress Marilu Henner is a five-time Golden Globe nominee, after starring in over thirty Hollywood movies. Celebrated for her achievements on Broadway and hit TV shows, the 64-year-old author of ten books teams up with pro partner, Derek Hough on DWTS 2016.

#3 Amber Rose
32-year-old Amber Rose is no stranger to fame. With many feathers in her cap, the actress, activist, entrepreneur and talk show host joins the DWTS contestants 2016. She is partnered with professional dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
#4 Ryan Lochte
The 12-time Olympic gold medalist is currently the world record holder for the 200m individual medley. He was recently in the news after the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics for a run-in with Brazilian law enforcement officers, because of a robbery incident, but the matter has now been resolved. The 32-year-old swimmer joins the cast of DWTS along with pro partner, Cheryl Burke.
#5 Vanilla Ice
Famous for his hit single “Ice, Ice, Baby,” rapper Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, joins the DWTS cast, teaming up with his pro partner, Witney Carson. In an interview he said, “It’s going to be tough. I’m approaching it like it’s just a fun event, and I hope it’ll translate on the screen. I’m not feeling competitive, especially going against Olympic champions.”
#6 Calvin Johnson
The former Detroit Lions wide receiver also joins the cast of DWTS. 30-year-old Calvin Johnson Jr. will show off his moves on the stage, along with his pro partner, Lindsay Arnold.
#7 Rick Perry
The 66-year-old former Texas Governor will shake a leg on the DWTS 2016 stage, along with his seasoned pro partner, Emma Slater. After having his political career shadowed in controversy, this is his chance to redeem himself to the American voters and viewers.
#8 Jana Kramer
The award-winning country singer Jana Kramer became a household name after her portrayal of the character Alex Dupre on the teen sitcom, One Tree Hill. Now, the 32-year-old joins the cast of DWTS, along with her pro partner, Gleb Savchenko.
The other celebrity contestants on Dancing with the Stars season 23 are The Brady Bunch’s, Maureen McCormick and her dancing partner, Artem Chigvintsev; 11-time Grammy-winning R&B singer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and his pro partner Allison Holker, as well as Wizards of Waverly Place star Jake T. Austin and his partner, Jenna Johnson. Last but not the least, we have the Verizon IndyCar series driver James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, along with Little Women star Terra Jolé, and her pro partner, Sasha Farber. That’s quite an impressive celebrity cast, if we may say so ourselves!
