Chloe Grace Moretz’s Twitter feud with Kim Kardashian is finally over. Back in March, in the midst of Kim Kardashian’s nude selfie on Instagram—which received a lot of backlash—Chloe Grace Moretz tweeted at the star, “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies.” Ouch!
Moretz went on Watch What Happens Live to clear things up once and for all. In an interview with host, Andy Cohen, she said, “I would say that, you know, I hope that we both use our platforms for the betterment of society. We have a lot of young women and young men to influence, and I hope we do that positively.”
For a 19-year-old, that is a pretty mature and diplomatic answer if you ask us. She not only put an end to all the social media drama but also emphasized the importance of celebrities and their influence on young people. Chloe Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham have recently become social media darlings themselves after they confirmed their romantic relationship on Instagram.
Kardashian has yet to respond to the comment, but other actresses have taken a stand against Moretz. Ariel Winter from Modern Family recently posted on social media to defend Kardashian in her interview with Glamour magazine. She talked about how body shaming is not okay, and that women should not turn on each other in this way.
We’re on Kardashian’s side for this one. Anyone, including celebrities, should be able to post whatever they please on social media as long as it is not hurting others. Kardashian works hard on her body, and with two kids she is still looking good. So, why not show every that she’s proud of what she’s got? It’s her prerogative. Nevertheless, we’re glad the feud has finally fizzled out.
