Cheryl Bonacci Was Arsenio Hall’s Manager

Cheryl Bonacci was reportedly born on March 15, 1965 and hails from Arizona. After graduating from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale in 1982, she acquired her bachelor’s in mass communication from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana in 1986.

After a successful run as guest host of Fox’s The Late Show, comedian Arsenio Hall signed a contract with Paramount to host his own cult-status popular talk show, The Arsenio Hall Show, which ran from 1989 to 1994. Over the same period, his then-girlfriend, Cheryl Bonacci, served as his manager.

It’s not known when and how Hall and Bonacci came to date. However, they shared both personal and professional partnerships.

She lists her term as VP of production/management for Arsenio Hall Communications, from 1988 to 1995, as her first work experience on her LinkedIn. Her job brought her to Los Angeles, California and she has been there since.

Bonacci and Arsenio Hall Have a Son Together

During their relationship, Bonacci gave birth to their son, Arsenio Cheron Hall Jr., on September 30, 1998. Their son often goes by Cheron Hall.

They broke up sometime in the early ‘00s and reportedly were locked in a child support and custody battle over then-five-year-old Cheron. It’s not known if they reached a settlement back then, but they did share custody of him.

Nonetheless, it appears the former couple is civil with each other for Cheron, whom they adore. While Hall famously took a break from his popular show and media appearances to raise Cheron, Bonacci has never failed to show her love for her son on social media.

Cheron is currently a student at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Bonacci, who shares her life stories in a blog, detailed the experience of sending her son off to college here.

Bonacci Is a Social Justice Advocate

Since her split with Arsenio Hall, Bonacci has focused on her passion for social justice. From 2001 to 2014, she served as a chaplain, then program director of the juvenile ministry, in the L.A. Archdiocese’s Office of Restorative Justice, where she and others advocated to end solitary confinement for juvenile offenders.

“As a Catholic chaplain for the Office of Restorative Justice for 15 years, I sat with too many 12- and 13-year-olds who don’t belong in juvenile hall and who could have benefited much more from a restorative pathway instead of punishment without proper support and guidance,” said Bonacci.

She has continued to work with non-profits advocating for criminal justice reform over the years. And now she’s at the core of her own organization fighting for social justice.

Together with Sabra Williams, she founded Creative Acts, of which she is the COO. Creative Acts provides consulting services to organizations and communities, to address social issues and set up programs to tackle them. Bonacci also does similar work as an independent consultant.
