He said in an interview, “It was devastating for me and my family because the show has been such a huge part of my life for so long … I didn’t expect for Carl to ever get killed off.”

About a year ago, Riggs was scheduled to attend Auburn University, which some believed he would attend after leaving the show. Now, sources say he plans to move to Los Angeles instead to focus on his career.

Riggs said in an interview, “I was planning on going to college until I found out [about his exit from The Walking Dead]. I decided that I wanted to not go to college for at least a year and move to L.A. and focus on acting and music. It ended up being a great thing because now I get to do all kinds of other stuff that I haven’t been able to do in the last eight years.”

In addition to acting, the teen enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He is also a self-proclaimed video-game buff and has a YouTube channel that shows him playing his favorite games.
