Politicians are expected to be civil during debates, congress meetings and other official gatherings, but on social media, the gloves come off! And Carly Fiorina had some choice words for fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, comparing him to someone who is anything but a politician—reality star Kim Kardashian!
On Twitter, Fiorina wrote: “Donald Trump reminds me of the Kim Kardashian of politics. They’re both famous for being famous — and the media plays along.” Of course, Trump’s initial fame and wealth came from real estate, while Kim Kardashian’s money is from her father being a successful attorney—he was one of OJ Simpson’s lawyers—and her initial fame came from being friends with Paris Hilton and a leaked sex tape. At least Trump doesn’t have one of those out there, right?

Of course, Trump has had some choice words for Carly Fiorina as well, having told Rolling Stone back in September that he thought his fellow GOP candidate was physically unattractive and that nobody would vote in a president with “that face,” adding, “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious? [sic]” However, Fiorina took the comments in stride, saying, “I think those comments speak for themselves,” and, “Maybe, just maybe, I’m getting under his skin a little bit, because I am climbing in the polls.” Trump later claimed he was talking about her “persona,” not anything physical.
Unfortunately, a lot of the comments on Fiorina’s Twitter post seem to come from people on Team Trump, with messages parroting Trump’s earlier comments, like, “Nobody cares what you say! Your personality sucks!!!!” and others pointing out Trump’s fame came from being a highly successful businessman. A great many others argued that she is simply jealous of Trump’s fame and wishes she was in his position; so much for people voting for a candidate based on the issues! On the other hand, her post has been retweeted more than 500 times, so it’s getting some reach.
In case you were wondering, there’s been no word yet from Kim Kardashian on how she feels about being compared to the likes of Donald Trump.
