Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, has died at the age of 22. The sad news comes six months after she was first found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home back in January. After being put in a medically induced coma and transferred to hospice care, Bobbi Kristina Brown eventually succumbed to her injuries on July 26 surrounded by family and friends.
Singer Bobby Brown has now released a statement via his lawyer thanking everyone for their love and support as he and his family continue to mourn. “Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time,” said Brown. “My family must find a way to live with her spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable.”
Although the Brown and Houston families knew that Bobbi Kristina’s death was inevitable and were anticipating it, the tragedy of it all has still been a big burden to bear, especially for her father. “He truly did not want to take Bobbi Kristina off life support, and he was hoping for a miracle of all miracles. This is by far the worst day of his life,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com.
However, the one thing that’s reportedly bringing Brown peace is the fact that his daughter is now reunited with her mother, Whitney Houston, who died on February 11, 2012 after drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “He is taking comfort in the fact that she’s with her mother and that there will be no more sadness or pain,” another source told People, adding, “She is at peace. He knows that and is taking comfort in that.” Bobby Brown may also find solace in his new baby girl, Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown, whom his second wife (Alicia Etheredge) gave birth to July 9.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have said that the investigation into her death has now become a homicide case, with Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, still a person of interest. There’s also the issue of who will now take over the estate that Bobbi Kristina was supposed to inherit from her mother—Bobby Brown, or the Houston family? Considering the ongoing bitterness between the Brown and Houston families, especially surrounding the care of Bobbi Kristina, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if they do decide to duke it out in court.
