Blake Shelton is one of the most active celebrities in the “Twitter-verse,” so it’s no surprise that he used to social media, specifically Twitter, to share a major anouncement—he even gave his followers a heads up yesterday about his “big surprise.”
The news is finally out! Shelton fans rejoice, because the country star has just confirmed that he will be going on tour in 2016. Shelton tweeted, “Alright, time to let the cat outta the bag… I’m going back out on tour next year! We kick off Feb 18th in Cincinnati [sic].”
Shelton also announced that for the first time, the tour would offer a unique VIP package that fans can purchase to get even more up close and personal with the star. According to a press release on Shelton’s web site, these “exclusive VIP experiences” start at $209 a person and include premium seats at the concert, plus access to an acoustic pre-show performance. If you’re willing to shell out $400 for a “Pure BS experience” ticket, you’ll even get a Shelton-autographed guitar.
Twitter fans are clearly elated with the news—Shelton’s first tweet was shared over 680 times in less than an hour, in addition to the continuous comments requesting more stops and dates.
For the concerts that are already confirmed, Shelton is promising a good time. In the statement on his site, the singer said, “As an artist, my favorite thing to do is go on the road and play shows. I’ve missed it, and it’s gonna be like old times. So y’all get ready to party.”
