She was born as Beyoncé Giselle Knowles on September 5, 1981 in Houston, Texas to Mathew Knowles, who was a Xerox sales manager and Celestine ‘Tina’ Knowles, a salon owner. Her younger sister, Solange is also a singer like Beyoncé. Beyoncé was into singing from the time she was very young, so she joined an all-girl singing group with her childhood friend, Kelly Rowland. Initially the group was named ‘Girl Tyme’, but they struggled to gain momentum in the music industry, until they were finally signed by Columbia Records in the year 1996—that’s when they decided to change the group’s name to ‘Destiny’s Child.’

After few years, the group sold out concerts and became famous for their amazingly popular tracks like, “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” and “Bootylicious.” Destiny’s Child began to top the charts and eventually became a household name.
