Actress Robin Wright and actor Ben Foster dated for over three years before calling it quits—again. The celebrity couple quietly ended their engagement for a second time some months ago, reports People magazine.
The 49-year-old Princess Bride star met the Six Feet Under actor in 2011 while filming their movie Rampart, and began seeing each other at the start of 2012. Just two years later, in early 2014, they announced their engagement. However, the duo ended their May-December relationship in November that same year before reconciling the following January. And on August 29, it was revealed that they had in fact split once again.
Wright divorced the famous father of her children (daughter Dylan, aged 24, and son Hopper, aged 22) Sean Penn in 2010. Shortly after she and Foster got engaged four years later, Wright gushed about her 34-year-old boyfriend’s proposal, describing it as “a shock” to The Daily Telegraph. She said, “But we felt married anyway. We’ve been together ever since the first date.”
The two were so close that they even got each other’s initials, “B” and “R”, tattooed on their ring fingers.
In April, the House of Cards actress talked in an interview with Vanity Fair about how Foster “inspires” her to really be the best possible version of herself. Wright also added, “There’s so much to learn. It’s endless. How great!” In the past, she has also credited her beau, who’s 15 years younger, for helping her move on from Penn.
