First we hear that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are separating, and then that Clint Eastwood and Dina Ruiz are already separated—are actor Jason Statham and his younger girlfriend, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the next celebrity couple headed for a breakup?
Statham, 45, has been in a May-December relationship with 26-year-old Huntington-Whiteley for over three years now. Although the celebrity couple usually does a fairly decent job of keeping their relationship out of the spotlight, they were front and center this week when several reports surfaced claiming that they had decided to break up, at least for the time being. Sources reportedly claimed that the celebrity couple was still very much in love, but that the almost 20-year age difference was beginning to take its toll on the relationship and they needed time apart to sort out their issues.
It turns out that the report was completely false—Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s May-December relationship is perfectly fine. In fact, Huntington-Whiteley slammed the rumors herself, telling reporters that she and her older man “have never been happier.” Her rep also released a statement confirming that the celebrity couple is still very much together and that the model actually just got back from spending the weekend on the set of Statham’s upcoming movie.
Huntington-Whiteley recently revealed in an interview with the U.K. edition of Elle magazine that when she’s with her older man, she feels at home, which is what makes their relationship so successful. “Many models are in long-term relationships for stability. Admittedly, not always with great men, but it gives them something to come home to, something grounding. That’s how I see my relationship.”
What do you think: Will Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s May-December relationship last?
