April Daniels Is from Pennsylvania
April Daniels was born on April 28, 1973 and hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She’s the youngest of four children born in a military household.
She graduated from a performing arts school and moved to Los Angeles, where she got her start in the beauty business.
April’s brother, Amen Brown, was a candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent District 190. He, however, lost the election in March 2019.

April Is a Licensed Cosmetologist
Upon moving to L.A., April Daniels acquired her cosmetology license and worked as a hair care professional. TLC’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes (who passed away in a car crash in 2002) was her biggest celebrity client. She was Lopes’ full-time hairstylist on MTV’s The Cut for three seasons.
Bille Woodruff, the video director behind several of Toni Braxton’s videos, later hired her as a hairstylist for his productions. April’s client list later grew to include Missy Elliot, Tichina Arnold, and Gabrielle Union.
Currently, April is co-owner of the North Carolina-based party planning business Everything Girlz Love.
April Met LaShawn at a Video Shoot
April was an in-demand hairstylist on music video shoots. And it was at one such shoot by a major record label that she met award-winning songwriter LaShawn Daniels.

She caught his eye, they dated and fell in love, and were together for over two decades. In a July Instagram post, April reminisced about the day LaShawn popped the question with a plastic blue heart from a Walgreens in Florida.
It didn’t fit back then, but she wore it around her neck. Nineteen years later, she still has that engagement token in memory of their special day.
April and LaShawn tied the knot on June 29, 2001, and Daniels’ two eldest kids were also present at their wedding.
This couple won fans with their chemistry during their regular appearances on WE TV’s Tamar and Vince.

April was the one to break the news of LaShawn’s fatal car accident in South Carolina with a social media post. She requested donations to be made to the Lashawn Daniels Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.
April Has Two Sons and a Stepson
April gave birth to their eldest son, Omarr, on February 2, 1996 in her hometown of Philadelphia. Omarr attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia and now lives in L.A. where his parents are based.
After graduating cum laude from Pepperdine University in 2017, Omarr is currently attending UCLA School of Law.
Their youngest son, Jett, was born on July 15, 2005.
LaShawn has a son, Tahshon Daniels (born April 15, 1996), from his previous relationship with fellow New Jersey native Monique Anderson. Tahshon is working on a music career under the name Jimmy Collins.

From the looks of it, April has a great bond with her stepson and is cordial with Tahshon’s mother. Anderson is also in grief over LaShawn’s tragic death and expressed her condolences to April.
