Yelchin’s friends and colleagues went looking for him at his home in Studio City, California. Anton Yelchin was found pinned between the iron security gate of his house and the front of his car. At such early hours of Sunday morning, the paramedics found this car accident to be “freakish.” A few hours later that day, Anton Yelchin was pronounced dead at the age of 27.

As a Russian specialist navigator named Pavel Andreievich Chekov, Anton Yelchin entered the circle of Hollywood’s finest actors. Being in Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) made him a part of a blockbuster franchise, which is a dream for every aspiring actor. Besides being known as Chekov in the Star Trek movies, Yelchin is known to have delivered some amazing acting in a lot of his movies. Some of the best movies starring Anton Yelchin include the critically-acclaimed crime drama Alpha Dog (2006), a teen comedy Charlie Bartlett (2007), and The Smurf movies. Yelchin was also seen as Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation (2009), and will soon return to the big screen in Star Trek Beyond (2016), one of his last movie appearances.

Upon knowing of Anton Yelchin’s sudden demise, J. J. Abrams send a message,to the cast and crew of the Star Trek movies that read, “Anton was our little brother. But only by years; he was as wise and clever and intellectually curious as anyone we ever knew. His laugh was preposterous—you couldn’t hear it and not laugh yourself. He was funny, edgy, wild, and talented beyond measure. His focus and dedication was admirable, as was his love of family, friends, literature and music.”

The Star Trek director expressed that he missed his fellow colleague by saying, “We loved Anton, at work or at  play. We are all shocked and numb and devastated by the world’s loss of an extraordinary young man. To his family, we send our love during this impossible time. We will miss Anton forever. His Star Trek family.”
