Willie Nelson’s relationship history is as wild as he is. But for this icon among country music outlaws, the fourth time was the charm. Nelson is currently married to Annie D’Angelo, his wife of almost three decades. After three marriages that had very eventful and bitter ends, Nelson has made his marriage with D’Angelo last the longest. It makes our Annie D’Angelo wiki a worthy read.

Annie D’Angelo Was a Makeup Artist

Born Ann Marie D’Angelo on August 27, 1956, very little is known about her early life. She does have a very close bond with her mother, Millie D’Angelo, on social media. Her Facebook posts also indicate that she might have Italian roots.

D’Angelo worked as a makeup artist in movies during the ‘80s. As Annie D’Angelo, she has accumulated credits in Gleaming the Cube, Where the Hell’s That Gold?!!?, The Rosary Murders, Hot Pursuit, and Bachelor Party.

Back in 1986, she was part of the makeup department for the TV movie Stagecoach, a Western remake starring Willie Nelson. They connected on set and fell in love while Nelson was still married to his third wife, Connie Koepke.

Nelson had gained a lot of experience, as well as a different mindset on relationships, after enduring three failed marriages and multiple romances, all rife with infidelity and drama. But with D’Angelo, he was determined not to repeat the same mistakes.

D’Angelo and Nelson Married in 1991

In the early ‘90s, Nelson ran into trouble with the IRS. With weak investments, unpaid taxes, most of his assets seized, and a third divorce, Nelson’s financial situation was dire.

However, he had the support of D’Angelo at that time. They tied the knot on September 16, 1991.

That same year, Nelson was set to face off with accounting firm Price Waterhouse, for allegedly causing his tax woes. Ahead of the trial, Nelson and D’Angelo had taken up temporary residence at a friend’s house in Austin, Texas with their kids.

The couple now lives in Maui, Hawaii, where they raised their kids. They also occasionally visit their Texas ranch, which Nelson has dubbed their family homestead.

Nelson and D’Angelo Have Two Sons

Between his four marriages and multiple relationships, Willie Nelson has at least seven kids. In his 2012 autobiography, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die, he revealed he had another daughter he had no idea about until he became a great grandfather through her.

D’Angelo and Nelson have two sons, Lukas Autry Nelson (born 1988) and Jacob Micah (born 1990). At the time of their parents’ wedding and tax troubles, Lukas was two years old, while Jacob, who goes by Micah, was eight months old.

Both of Nelson’s youngest sons have followed his footsteps into music. Lukas created the country-rock band Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, of which he is the lead vocalist and guitarist. He also co-produced the music for the 2018 Bradley Cooper-Lady Gaga version of A Star Is Born.

D’Angelo Has a Marijuana Business

Willie Nelson is a major proponent of marijuana and after years of being a casual consumer, he decided to start his own marijuana-based business, Willie’s Reserve, in 2015. Two years later, D’Angelo and Nelson launched Annie’s Edibles, whose first products were a selection of artisan chocolates.
