Amber Rose is not only Kanye West’s ex, and she has proven that, given her successful modeling, fashion designing, and even acting career. What’s more, she recently paired up with Simon & Schuster to release her debut book, How to Be a Bad Bitch, which is filled with advice from Rose. So it’s understandable why the 31-year-old was angry at GQ magazine for referring to her as Kanye’s ex and Wiz Khalifa’s “baby mama.”
She posted a photo on Instagram of the quote that the famous men’s magazine wrote in their latest issue: “Amber Rose wrote the book on it. No, seriously: Kanye’s infamous ex, Wiz Khalifa’s baby mama, America’s toughest bald babe since Sigourney Weaver in Alien 3, is about to publish a book of life lessons called How to Be a Bad Bitch.” They also went on to describe how the book is not as “thick” as Rose, and is about the “teen stripper turned megalomaniac muse” who spoke about her so-called, “beautiful dark twisted journey to the top.” Rose pointed out the fact that this was a horribly placed pun filled with nothing but negativity.
In the caption, Rose lashed out and wrote, “Really @gq?” She went on to describe how she was so much more than just the labels they gave her. At one point, she even asked them why they reached out to her if they were just going to “dumb” her down, and why they didn’t mention how she spoke about her feminism movement and recently organized “Slutwalk.” She added, “I expected so much more from u guys and I’m so disappointed [sic].” Rose also called them a “tabloid” and said that the whole point of her work was to avoid “ignorant shit like this.”
And her fans seemed to have her back. Receiving over 52,000 likes in less than five hours, the photo got comments such as, “I’m with you. They’re out of line. You’ve made a name for yourself far beyond the former partner of a couple well known men, disappointing.”
Meanwhile, Rose has also been busy reminding everyone that it is not just Kanye West’s wife, Kim Kardashian’s, birthday on October 21. Along with a few images to both Instagram and Twitter, she tweeted a not-so-subtle reminder to the world, writing, “My birthday is this Wednesday, so that’s cool.” Rose will be hosting a high-end birthday party at an L.A. nightclub on October 22.
