Carlos PenaVega’s Acting Career
Carlos Roberto Pena Jr. was born in Columbia, Missouri, on August 15, 1989, making Carlos PenaVega’s age 28. Carlos PenaVega’s parents are of Spanish, Colombian, and Dominican descent. He was raised in sunny Florida, along with his three brothers, Antonio, Andres, and Javi.
PenaVega took part in many local productions since he was a kid, and some of them were blockbusters like Grease. He was a part of the Titanic production, and like for most of us, it inspired him to take up singing and dancing. After Titanic, PenaVega left for Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in acting.
PenaVega was 10 when he got his acting break in Hollywood with his role in the hit medical drama, ER. After the stint, he became more of a regular feature in Judging Amy, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, and Summerland, all while he was attending school.
When PenaVega was not in school, he was either in auditions or playing a role. He also did commercials, and his most memorable one is the Super Soaker ad.
PenaVega studied at the Boston Conservatory where he was taking classes in musical theater. But little did he know that his world would become one big musical celebration!
Hollywood and Fame
While PenaVega was still trying to juggle all the aspects of life, his manager urged him to audition for the boy band, Big Time Rush.
In 2009, after waiting two years, PenaVega got the role in the Nickelodeon original series, Big Time Rush. The show is about four hockey players who join a boy band as adventure brings them closer together.
Big Time Rush aired on TV from 2009 to 2013 for a total of four seasons. And the whole franchise is what put Carlos PenaVega on the map.
But the band dismembered soon after releasing BTR, 24/Seven, and Elevate, their only three albums. However, PenaVega went solo after the breakup, and his first release was the Spanish single, Electrico, in 2014.
Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega’s Relationship
Carlos Pena married Alexa Vega in 2014, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and they chose to merge their surnames. They welcomed their baby boy, Ocean, in December 2016.
The couple appeared on the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars and were pitted against each other. DWTS pro dancer Whiney Carson was coupled with Carlos PenaVega back then. And although they had reached the finals in the dance reality competition, they did not win and came in fourth.
Carlos PenaVega’s net worth is estimated at around $7.0 million. Meanwhile, Alexa PenaVega is worth $12.5 million, with some reports saying it’s as high as $16.0 million.
