Champions at Last
In August 2014, Murphy formed a tag team with Wesley Blake, and a formidable wrestling team was born. Murphy and Blake lost their first few matches to opponents like The Lucha Dragons, The Vaudevillains, and The Ascension, but they kept working hard on their skills and lived to fight another day.
The tables turned, and Murphy and Blake defeated The Vaudevillains. They then challenged champions The Lucha Dragons to a title match.
On January 28, 2015, the duo defeated The Lucha Dragons to win the NXT Tag Team Championship, making Murphy the first Australian to hold a championship in the WWE. They held the title for 219 days before losing it to The Vaudevillains, who captured the title once again.

Although Murphy and Blake made several attempts to get together as a tag team, they could not recreate the earlier magic of their partnership. Murphy began to wrestle as a singles challenger and fought tough competitors like Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura with mixed results.
