Canadian actor Alan Thicke started his career in the spotlight in the late 70s, hosting a Canadian game show called First Impressions. He also had his own successful talk show in the early 80s. But perhaps what he’s best known for is playing one of the most famous TV dads of the 90s, Mr. Seaver on the sitcom Growing Pains.

Since the series ended in 1992, Alan Thicke has gone on to host several game shows, talk shows, and reality shows; compose various popular TV theme songs; and make countless television, film, and commercial appearances.

Thicke’s role as a devoted husband in Growing Pains hardly translated into real life. He first married Days of Our Lives actress Gloria Loring in 1970 after meeting her at a supper club in Toronto. The celebrity couple had two kids (one of whom is Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke) before their marriage ended in 1984.

Alan Thicke’s second marriage came 10 years later and his second wife was much younger than his first. In 1994, he married Gina Tolleson, who was crowned Miss World in 1990; there was a 23-year age difference between them, making her only four years older than Thicke’s oldest child. The celebrity couple’s marriage only lasted five years, and they had one kid together.

Thicke had a taste of being with a younger women and he must have really enjoyed it, because in 1999, he met model Tanya Callau. Despite their 28-year age difference, the celebrity couple married in May 2005. At 38, his third wife is actually younger than Thicke’s oldest kid.

Nonetheless, it seems Alan Thicke may finally be settling down. After all, he is almost 70 now. But his famous son, Robin Thicke, will still always remember his father as being a ladies’ man. “My dad was single my whole pubescent period,” Thicke said in a recent interview with Elle magazine. “He had Ms. Alabama, Ms. Dominican Republic—every week. I was like, Dang, Pops. He had an indoor Jacuzzi, and he frequented it,” adding that he once walked in on a naked woman one morning went he went for a shower before school.

If you’re wondering what Alan Thicke’s marriage to a much younger woman is like, you can see for yourself, because the celebrity couple will be starring in their own reality/comedy show called Unusually Thicke, which will focus on Thicke’s life with his “beautiful, spicy and much younger” wife. According to Thicke, “viewers will meet the lovable, unpredictable, and often challenging people who live with the real Jason Seaver.” The series debuts in April 2014.
