Adele smashed all records with her new song “Hello” and appearing on the Carpool Karaoke segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden has only added to the popularity of the song. The 27-year-old took to Twitter to express her gratitude to the host of the show and also shared an interesting backstory as to where the two met!

Adele posted a black and white photo of herself and Corden and wrote, “I had the best time doing this! We met 7 years ago in an aeroplane hanger in Wales!! Love you mate @JKCorden X [sic].” Fans were so amazed by her humbleness that the the post was retweeted over 3,550 times and liked over 10,700 times in just an hour! They also left comments like, “You have a pilgrim’s soul. Thanks for brightening my day [sic],” and, “THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS.”

Soon after Adele also shared the full video of the karaoke session (which you can check out below) that started off with Corden playfully calling the singer, using the lines of “Hello,” and after a short rendition of the song, she revealed that she played the drums for the track. Corden responded to this amazing fact by calling her the “female Phil Collins”!

The entertaining segment continued with the two belting out hits like Adele’s “Someone Like You” and The Spice Girls’ legendary song “Wannabe.” Adele also showed the world another side of her when she absolutely killed Nicki Minaj’s verse from “Monster.” It was so great that Minaj herself posted the snippet to Instagram and wrote, “Pull thru, QUEEN!!!!! #Adele #monster the attitude & fingers to match. #Oh #Ok #IcoNic I cried when she waved bye to the careers [sic].”

However, the 15-minute-long Carpool Karaoke video ended much too soon, with Adele and James Corden sensationally covering “Rolling In the Deep” which was more than a perfect conclusion one could ask for.
