Robyn Brown Grew up in a Plural Family
Born Robyn Sullivan on October 9, 1978, she grew up in the same Mormon faith as her husband Kody Brown and his other wives. She was raised in a plural family and is the daughter of her father’s second wife.
In the book Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage, Robyn said that her father could not publicly acknowledge her as his daughter, which was heartbreaking for a young Robyn. Her father could have gotten into trouble at his workplace had they known he had a plural family.
When she was young, Robyn also hid her religion at school to protect the family from being ostracized.
Robyn Brown Was Previously Married
Before she found the love of her life in Kody, Robyn was married to David Jessop from 1999 to 2007. Though she is a practitioner of the Mormon faith, her first marriage was monogamous.
Her marriage with Jessop was reportedly unhappy before they divorced. She once said she ended her first marriage because of alleged abuse. She later married Kody Brown, who was then legally married to Meri Brown and in spiritual unions with Janelle and Christine.
Robyn has three children with Jessop. Her eldest child, Dayton, was born in 2000. Her first daughter, Aurora, was born in 2003 and her second daughter, Breanna, was born in 2005.
With Kody, she is mother to Solomon Brown (born 2011) and Ariella Brown (2016). She’s also stepmother to Kody’s 13 children with Meri, Janelle, and Christine.
During season 13 in 2019, rumors have swirled that Robyn is pregnant with her and Kody’s third child together. Adding to it is the couple often saying they are open to expanding their brood. However, a friend close to Robyn has denied she’s currently pregnant.

Robyn and Kody Are Legally Married
Sister Wives began in 2010 with Kody and Robyn dating and getting engaged. It was Kody’s first pursuit of a wife in 16 years, after his last marriage to third wife Christine in March 1994.
Kody and Robyn entered a spiritual union in 2010. At that time, Kody’s wife on paper was Meri, his first wife whom he married in April 1990.
Robyn’s transition into the Brown clan wasn’t seamless. Jealousy and insecurity brewed among the other wives with the impending addition of the youngest wife and her children. The sister wives overcame their differences, eventually, to welcome Robyn and her children into the family.
After years of deliberation, Meri filed for a legal divorce from Kody so he could legally marry Robyn in 2014. That allowed Kody to adopt Robyn’s children, Dayton, Aurora, and Breanna. Meri and Kody are still husband and wife in spirit, while Robyn is now his legal wife.
Fans of the show often bring up Meri’s sacrifice to slam Robyn. According to several viewers of the show, Robyn is apparently insensitive to Meri and the other sister wives and their children.

Robyn’s Son Reportedly Has Asperger Syndrome
In a 2018 Instagram post, Robyn shared that Dayton has Asperger syndrome. According to that post, someone around Dayton was being insensitive about autism, and that riled up Robyn.
Dayton graduated from high school in 2018 with honors and an advanced diploma. He began college last year in a university in Arizona.
Robyn and Kody relocated the entire brood from Las Vegas, Nevada to Flagstaff, Arizona to stay closer to Dayton.
Last month, Robyn tweeted about “Rock Star” Dayton’s contribution to their move. But the tweet was slammed by fans for multiple reasons.
Many criticized her for seemingly not caring about the other children and how such a big move would affect them. They also claim she’s comparing the kids and encouraging unhealthy rivalry.
Avid viewers may recall the show began in Utah, where the state investigated whether the Browns broke any laws with their polygamous lifestyle. After season 1, the family relocated to Las Vegas to escape the stigma in their community that didn’t accept polygamy. The move was particularly hard on the older children at the time.

She Launched My Sister Wife’s Closet
Robyn is passionate about making and selling jewelry, which led to the launch of her online business, My Sister Wife’s Closet. Kody and the other wives are also the faces of the jewelry brand, which has now become an additional source of income for Robyn and her sister wives.
My Sister Wife’s Closet also works towards suicide awareness and prevention after Robyn lost a loved one to suicide. Robyn has collections containing jewelry pieces on suicide awareness to support the cause. A portion of the sales from this collection goes to Project Semicolon, which promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
