Happy Star Wars Day! And May the 4th be with you. Every fan of the epic is struck with Star Wars fever: from celebrities to life-long followers are taking to social media to show how to celebrate Star Wars Day. It’s been fun looking at pics and memes, but the question is: How to celebrate Star Wars Day?
There are so many options here for Star Wars Day in 2016. Some are a bit more fanatical than others, but all are certainly doable for true fans. Here are the top nine ways to enjoy the Star Wars Day celebrations!
Watch the Movies!
This should be a no-brainer. But don’t just sit on your couch alone with the remote: spice it up a bit and invite some friends over and get some popcorn and get the kids involved! The Force doesn’t discriminate!
Dress as Your Favorite Character(s)
Can anything be more fun than dressing up as a Jedi? Neil Patrick Harris and Husband David Burtka dressed up as Hans Solo and Luke Skywalker. Mark Zuckerberg dressed his son as a Jedi. Ruby Rose even swapped her head on Princess Leia’s body. Those are just some inspirations, but let your creativity flow!
Make Yourself Star Wars-Themed Meals
Food goes well with watching movies, so why not make a day of it? Vader rainbow cake is a delicious treat for the family. All you need is white cake batter and five different gel food colorings. Simple and sweet! And if you’re looking for more recipes, check out the official Star Wars web site!
Conquer that One Thing You’ve Been Scared to Forever
Yoda says it best: “Do or do not. There is no try.” Trying is way too overrated anyways. Now is as good a time as any to just go for it. If it doesn’t work out, blame it on the Force!
Build a Millennium Falcon
Seems ambitious, yes. But fans in Malaysia used Lego blocks to build a replica Millennium Falcon. You can even call your neighbors or other Star Wars-loving friends over and think of something you can all build together. Don’t forget to tweet it out once you’re done so your photo can join all the other Star Wars Day images floating around on social media!
Now is as good a time as any to get off of your block. Pack up the SUV or even grab a plane ticket and take a trip to Disneyland or some other magical place and enjoy it. Star Wars is about exploration, so why not do some exploring yourself? You might not get to outer space, but there has to be somewhere in this galaxy that inspires your inner Jedi.
Donate Those Old Star Wars Toys
We won’t judge you for keeping your Star Wars drink cup, but maybe it’s time for someone else to cherish the memorabilia. If you’re a fan, you’re sure to have some loose toys in the garage or in a storage bin somewhere. Make a child smile today and donate old Star Wars toys to charity or give them straight to a youngster you know is just as obsessed as you are!
