The Sneaky Dating Trick You Need to Know About If You Want to Land a Sugar Daddy

How many times have you been in this scenario: you meet a handsome older man, the two of you instantly hit it off, you even go out on a great date, and then you boot it home to look him up online? If this sounds like something you would do, you’re not alone. It turns out that a lot of other singles are guilty of doing the same thing. And there’s a good chance that even if you’ve only just started dating a new older man, you’ve been searched, too.

Almost three-quarters (72%) of the 2,046 Americans polled admitted to doing an online search on a partner they were dating, or considering dating, to see if they could find any hidden dirt. The first stop would be an online search engine, at least for 68% of the respondents, while 64% would rely on social media.

When asked exactly what they were looking for, more than half of the respondents (58%) said they were searching for information on past relationships. Almost half (45%) were just trying to feel more confident about their decision to date the person, while a third (31%) wanted to find out if there are any mutual friends to presumably get more information.

These numbers go for both men and women, which means that while you’re scoping out a potential sugar daddy online, he’s probably doing the same for you. So, if you’re on the market for a new man, you might want to do a search on yourself, just to see what’s out there—if you can find it, there’s a very good chance that he can too.

If your potential sugar daddy doesn’t hop on Google as soon as you start dating, there are a few red flags you might be putting up that may prompt him to do some background research before letting the relationship progress any further. Be wary of these things, which, according to the survey, would make someone suspicious about the person they were dating: receiving calls or text messages at odd hours, increasingly working late, acting more sexually disconnected, and hiding or locking your cell phone.

Online research is proving to be a pretty effective tool for evaluating a relationship. Almost a third (30%) of the survey respondents would just end the relationship, no questions asked, if they found signs of cheating in their search results.

What do you think: Do you usually do a background search on a potential sugar daddy before dating him?
